Passing Away#
My grandfather passed away.
"Open your hands, holding lotus flowers to the Western Paradise; open your feet, stepping on lotus flowers to heaven..." The existence of the funeral industry seems to possess a magical power, reciting elegies softly on one side, comforting the hearts of the bereaved family members on the other.
I grew up in my grandfather's house when I was young, and had a particularly good relationship with my grandfather. Remember the time we spent together, do you still remember? We played chess, cards, and ball games. Your memory was very good, always remembering the capitals of many countries... but I still remember.
At the memorial service, my grandmother said, "My grandson was the closest to my grandfather when he was young."
Yes, how could I forget. But now, everything, no matter what it is, has turned to ashes in the fire.
Life's "Big Events"#
This title reminds me of a movie called "Life's Big Events," which tells the story of Mo Sanmei going to prison for his girlfriend, only to be abandoned by her after his release. His father hopes he will take over the family funeral home, but Mo Sanmei is not interested in this family business until a little Nezha holding a red tassel spear enters his life, and his life begins to change.
In life, what truly counts as a "big event"?
During school, grades are a big deal; during work, promotions and raises become big events; marriage is also considered a big event in life.
However, a funeral, a memorial photo, two sets of wreaths, people discussing the deceased's life, perhaps this is the real big event in life.
